Two years on: the forest has closed in

What was a bare hardscape on day one is now a dense, layered system. The planting has largely filled the open spaces and maintenance has dropped to trimming and observing.

This is the phase I’m really after: a tank that mostly sustains itself and looks slightly different each season.
